Teahupo History

Filmmaker and surfing folklore encyclopedia Angelo Mei asked me to assist with some visual aids to include in Billabong Australia’s tv show Featured, that he was directing. This clip, that includes animated petrogliph drawings, we learn how Tahiti’s most famous big wave spot Teahupo got it’s name. Thanks to Angelo for the call, Billabong Australia, and John Christensen at Blockhouse Post for getting my Flash files formatted for Aussie broadcast.

Featured, presented by Billabong and set to air on MTV Australia, New Zealand and Asia and is currently airing on Virgin Airlines as part of their in flight entertainment. Other platforms are currently being negotiated. Though the episode isn’t available online, check out the clip below. Also, I found a clip of Monoa Drollet and Kelly Slater’s secret right hander session that was part of the episode, shot by Angelo.
